Unlocking Peaceful Sleep: A FREEALITEA Fall Back Guide with Essential Oils, Herbal Remedies, and a Calm Mind

Michelle Clay sleep

Greetings FABULOUS Friends! Dr. Michelle here to share a holistic health hack to elevate your wellness. It’s a simple thing and FREE. It doesn’t cost you a penny but not enough people get it. That 5-letter word SLEEP. Sunday, November 5th we change our clocks once again to fall back. If you’re like me, I stay on the struggle bus for a while trying to get myself together with the time changes. Hey, I’m from Indiana. All of my childhood and most of my adult life, we never changed our clocks. It made things simple, but I digress.  Let’s talk about creating and maintaining relaxing sleep rituals when the time falls back so we won’t be so discombobulated. We all know how important a good night's sleep is for our overall well-being, so let's dive into three relaxation rituals that will help you sleep like a queen, even as the days get shorter.

1. Essential Oils and Aromatherapy:

Ah, the power of essential oils! These little wonders can work magic in promoting relaxation and sleep. As the days get darker, it's essential to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere in your sleep sanctuary. I personally believe that the whole house should feel like your sanctuary; a place of respite that you don’t have to wait to exhale. Try diffusing some calming essential oils like cedarwood, peppermint, and clary sage

  • Cedarwood
Releases stress and anxietyPromotes sleep by decreasing sleep disturbances and promoting duration or length of sleep
  • Peppermint

Not only does it have anti-inflammatory properties, but it is equally as effective in promoting relaxation and improving the quality of sleep as lavender

  • Clary Sage

This is in the same family as the sage leaves you use in your kitchen but is a different plant. Clary sage is warm with slightly sweet floral notes It can be diffused alone or pairs well with rosemary and lavender which all have relaxing benefits. Studies show that inhaling clary sage reduces the stress hormone cortisol giving an anti-depressant effect. And guess what, for my FABULOUS women over 40 who may be having hot flashes, sage is your friend. Both clary sage and the sage found in the kitchen! Studies show applying clary sage mixed with a carrier oil such as coconut or olive oil to the bottom of your feet can help reduce hot flashes. Consuming culinary sage also reduces hot flashes. WOW!

These not only fill your room with a soothing aroma but also have properties that can help ease your mind and prepare you for a restful night's sleep. So, let the scent of these natural wonders envelop you as you drift off to night-night

2. Relaxation Herbal Remedies:

Speaking of natural wonders, let's talk about herbal remedies. In the fall, it's all about winding down gracefully, and what better way to do that than with herbs like lemon balm, passionflower, and valerian root. These beauties are all part of FREEALITEA's Release & Rest sleep support blend, and they are here to ensure you have a peaceful slumber. Not only is this helpful when the time changes, but for FABULOUS women over 40 whose hormones have them up at night, a full night’s rest doesn’t have to be a thing of the past. Simply brew yourself a cup of this soothing blend before bedtime, and let it work its magic on your mind and body. It's like a warm hug from Mother Nature herself, wrapping you in tranquiliTEA.

 3. Mindset – Relax Your Mind:

Sis, it's time to give yourself permission to stop and rest. I know we're all Super Wonder Women, juggling a million things, but when it comes to bedtime, it's imperative to release the worries and the to-do list of the day. Take a moment to breathe and unwind. Start by jotting down three things you want to accomplish tomorrow. This simple act empties your mind, preventing those racing thoughts that can keep you tossing and turning. Next, write down three things you're grateful for about the day. Embrace the positivity and exhale with a smile. This positive note sets the stage for the sweetest dreams, allowing you to wake up refreshed and ready to conquer the day ahead.

As we fall back in time, let's fall into a deeper commitment of caring for and loving on ourselves. A relaxing sleep ritual is one way of doing that.

Remember, you are worthy and you are you ARE more than enough!

Be well and wonderful, and embrace the sweetness in every dream. Sweet dreams, and I'll catch you on the bright side of the morning!
